I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. In 2007, I became a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through training with Dr. Patrick Carnes, one of the most prominent figures in the areas of knowledge and treatment around sexual addictions. Additionally, I have completed basic training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a treatment shown to be quite effective in helping people who have experienced trauma. In fact, learning to recognize traumatic experience and its effects has greatly helped clinicians in work with clients who have experienced physical, sexual or emotional abuse or neglect. And in the recognition of the universality of the experience of trauma and neglect, EMDR is increasingly used for the trauma "part" of more and more cases. You can find out more about my characteristics as a therapist by clicking on "Services" on the left of the page.
Additionally, I have worked as a Clinician/Consultant at the Access and Crisis Unit of the DuPage County Health Department, and served on the Board of Directors of a local community mental health agency.
In January of 2016, I joined Core Psychotherapy Center in Schaumburg, and am providing my services and seeing clients there.
